First time I heard this song and I know I was hooked. My friends and I were watching Beyonce’s concert on DVD, (I wasn’t really watching because I’m more busy entertaining guests) when I heard this song. I stopped what I was doing (that was preparing squid balls and kikiam) and watched the show. I loved the song right away I felt that she was talking to me. There are only a few female artists whom i admire and I can say one of them is Beyonce.
Easy listening. One way to describe this song, Northern Downpour by Panic at The Disco. I was never really a fan of the band but this song got to me. I don’t really understand some of the lines in the lyrics of this song like “I missed your skin when you were east” its too deep for me and can anybody explain to me what they mean by “weather vanes my one and lonely”? What I love about this song is the TUNE! It’s HYPNOTIC! Makes me want to play it again and again. It doesn’t make me feel down or suicidal but in some crazy way it moves me to be creative. I have finished some sketches that I wanted to put down on paper for a long period of time while I’m listening to this song. I was able to finish an action figure custom i’ve been dying to try out ever since I started customizing toys and most importantly (and to the joy of my mom) I was able to clean my room. Whenever I listen to this song the tune it makes me feel relaxed but also rested that it makes me want to make things, but in some strange way it also makes me feel confused.
After listening to the song one afternoon while I’m driving along EDSA and the traffic is surprisingly light, the radio station that I’m listening to began playing the song. I tried listening intently to the lyrics and VOILA! That’s the reason why I feel confused everytime I listen to this song. If you listen to the song, you’ll probably ask yourself, “What are they singing about, are they singing about the moon?”. I feel that there is deeper meaning to all this stuff that they wrote. What do they want to get across? I don’t know. For me, they are talking about lost loves, how we should value things that we take for granted and life in general. I give this two thumbs up. Put this in your Ipod playlist.
