I just saw the boxing match and it was grueling..kawawa naman si Ricky Hatton. I think he passed out. Panalo na naman ang Pambansang Kamao! Naalala ko tuloy yung isang scene sa TROY. After defeating the giant, Bard Pitt’s character, Achilles said “Is there noone else?”. So who’s next for Manny?
It’s been a busy month. I’m glad I finally had the time to post these events. First up, Last March 14, we had a fun time running for their lives. I mean, my students and fellow teachers ran for the lives of the beneficiaries of “Run for their lives”. Its a fund raiser for children with heart disease. The event wasn’t only fun but fulfilling. I haven’t ran for a while and after 5 minutes I’m already our of breath. I ran for only a kilometer and walked the whole way. Well, they say it’s not winning but how you ran. Yeah, yeah I’m just making up excuses
Whooa! Last saturday, my sister and our friends went to Clark Pampanga to witness the Hot Air balloon festival. It was so tiring but it was so worth it. We got there at around 4:30 am and already there is a small crowd going on. We positioned ourselves near where the balloons are and I can see that I’ll have a comfortable view of the grounds. It pays off to be early. I sat there waiting for the balloons to fly and fill themselves with hot air and I can’t help it, next thing I know I was nodding off. We had such a blast when finally the balloons started to fly one by one and we took lots of pictures. What I like best are the sky diving exhibition. I felt very patriotic when the sky divers began their descent with a huge Philippine flag waving towards the ground. We all got goose bumps all over.
First time I heard this song and I know I was hooked. My friends and I were watching Beyonce’s concert on DVD, (I wasn’t really watching because I’m more busy entertaining guests) when I heard this song. I stopped what I was doing (that was preparing squid balls and kikiam) and watched the show. I loved the song right away I felt that she was talking to me. There are only a few female artists whom i admire and I can say one of them is Beyonce. 
I heard some disturbung news yesterday. 2 of my former students got into trouble with the law. It really hurts me to hear about what happened to them. I also feel very sorry for the person who got involved with what they did. At first, I didn’t believe that they can do something like that. After searching for it on the net I found that its true. I really hope that everything will be alright with them and I know that they have learned their lesson well. I’m hoping for the best. With this, I pose this question to everyone, what factors may influence a person’s behavior?
“Greatness is not given. It is earned.” This is one of the phrases that caught my attention while I was sleepily and dreamily watching the innauguration of President Barack H. Obama of the United States. It made me realize howmuch he must have suffered trying to earn that greatness that he now is. Being a minority he must have gone through a lot of needle holes. This did not stop him from reaching his goals and political ambition. He became an inspiration to me. Now that he’s in the office, he will have more challenges to face. He will have to prove his worth. Good luck Mr. President.
ANG PUNO NG MIYOK
“Ang lahat ay dapat na nasa kanila ng mga tent pagsapit ng alas-diyes ng gabi” kabilin-bilinan ni Bb. Villaluz sa kanyang mga mag-aaral.
Ang mga mag-aaral ng ikaanim na baitang ay nagkaroon ng exposure trip sa Antipolo, Rizal. Doon ay tinuturuan ang bawat mag-aaral kung anu-ano ang mga paraan sa pagpapanatili ng kagandahan ng kalikasan.
“Buti na lang nakasama ako sa field trip natin na ito. Bukod sa masaya ay marami pa akong natututunang paraan upang maisalba ang ating kalikasan” banggit ni Tom sa kanyang kaibigang si Jerry.
“Oo nga, ito talaga ang pakay ko dito” sagot ni Jerry
“Pakay? Anong ibig mong sabihin?”
“Mamayang gabi sa loob ng ating tent ay sasabihin ko sa iyo.”
Pagkatapos maghapunan ay dumiretso na ang magkaibigan sa kanilang tent. Nang patayin na ang mga ilaw ay may inilabas si Jerry na isang bagay. Gamit lamang ang kanilang mga gasera ay inaninag ng magkaibigan ang kakaibang bagay na ito na hawak ni Jerry.
“Ano iyan?” Pagtatanong ni Tom.
“Ito ay ang dahon ng puno ng Miyok.”
“Miyok? Ngayon lang ako nakarinig ng ganyang klase ng puno.”
“Oo, dahil ang dahon na ito ay hindi galing sa planetang ito.”
“Ha? Ang ibig mong sabihin ay galing pa iyan sa ibang planeta?” hindi makapaniwalang pagtatanong ni Tom.
“Totoo ang sinasabi ko. Kung ayaw mong maniwala ay patutunayan ko ito sa iyo.” Pagkasabi nito ay may inilabas si Jerry sa kanyang bulsa na bilugang bagay na halos kasing laki ng bola ng baseball. May lumabas ditong nakasisilaw na liwanag at matapos ang ilaw na iyon ay nagulantang si Tom sa kanyang nakita.
“Nasaan na tayo?” Pupungas-pungas pang wika ni Tom.
“Tayo ay nasa planetang Gargon.”
“Ganoon ba. Puro pala disyerto ang planetang ito at walang katau-tao.”
“Oo, namamatay na ang aming planeta, malungkot na wika ni Jerry”
“Paanong namamatay na ito?”
“Namamatay na ang aming planeta dahil na din sa pagpapabaya ng mga naninirahan dito. Sa pagsulong ng aming teknolohiya at agham ay hindi namin napansin ang unti-unting pagkawasak ng aming kalikasan. Ang dahon na iyan na hawak mo ay ang kaisa-isang puno na natitira sa aming planeta. Ito ang puno ng Miyok. Kaya ako nagpunta sa inyong mundo ay para malaman ko kung ano ang maari pang gawin naming mga naninirahan sa planetang ito upang maisalba ang aming kalikasan.”
“Marami ka bang nakuhang ipormasyon?”
“Napakarami! Bukas na bukas din ay sisimulan ko na ang mga proyektong ito.”
“Sana nga maging matagumpay ang iyong mga balak para maisalba mo ang inyong planeta.”
“Sa tulong na ibinigay ng mga tao sa inyong mundo ay madali kong magagawa ang iyong mga tinuran. Paalam sa iyo kaibigang. Mananatili na ako dito sa aking lupang sinilangan. Kailangan nang magtuturo sa mga naninirahan sa aming planeta kung paano maisasalba ang aming natitirang kalikasan.”
“Mag-iingat ka kaibigan’ Pagpapaalam ni Tom kay Jerry.
Kinaumagahan ay nagising si Tom sa tunog ng silbato ni Bb. Villaluz. PRRRRT!!! PRRRRT!!
“Umaga na pala. Kay gandang panaginip. Ako ay naglakbay sa ibang planeta sa isang kisap mata lamang. Hahahaha, hindi kapanipaniwalang panaginip.”
Iiling-iling pa si Tom habang natatawa sa kanyang sarili. Sa pagtayo niya mula sa kanyang hinihigang kuna ay may nakapa siyang isang bagay. Ito ay walang iba kung hindi ang dahon ng puno ng Miyok.
The River to the falls
This is the river to the falls in Port Barton, Palawan. The place is a paradise with lots of cheap sea food and great beaches. You will have to wade along this river to get to the falls. One should be careful for it is full of leaches! One of the little blood suckers got stuck to my leg and we had to wait for it to become swollen to get it off. It will leave a nasty mark on your skin. Luckily it doesn’t hurt.
